Professor Peter Duncan
Director
Peter Duncan was educated at Manchester and Birmingham Universities. After a short career in the Nuclear Power industry he entered Further Education in 1969. He worked in three Colleges in the Birmingham and West Midlands before moving to Scotland in 1986.
After holding senior positions in two Colleges in Edinburgh he was appointed Principal of Central College of Commerce in 1992 and led many innovative developments there until he retired in October 2007. Of particular note were the creation of state of the art business and learning centres and also leading edge Information Technology developments both in learner facilities and in information management systems.
Peter has a wealth of education and business experience having been a Director of over 12 companies including the Glasgow Chamber of Commerce, becoming their President in the year 2000. He was invited to and has given advice to the devolved Scottish Government. His work has focused on making learning more accessible for remote learners, those in employment and those from other countries. He has also developed beneficial routes for learners between Colleges and Universities.
He initiated collaborative open learning material schemes and became the Chair of an organisation (COLEG) whose work created a wealth of text and on-line learning material for the Colleges in Scotland. One of the part-time posts he continues with since retiring is with the “Retail Academy” creating on-line training materials for the retail sector.
Peter has worked with a number of Universities and Colleges in Scotland, England and overseas. Included are organisations in countries such as China, South Korea, Pakistan, Denmark and Germany. Consequently he is delighted to continue this work as a Director of Admission Direct.
Saqib Ahmed
Director
Saqib Ahmed, a British citizen brought up and educated in Glasgow, has demonstrated a difficult balance of combining a successful working life and social life with extensive voluntary community work. This combination has been achieved through his exuberance, vitality and deep commitment to help people and to the Asian community.
After graduation Saqib has had a wide career path having worked in multi-national, private and public sector organisations, making significant contributions in each.
Saqib’s community portfolio has resulted in his having considerable networks within the wider Glasgow community and the Asian community in Scotland.
Saqib is also a part of a team which produces a community based free newspaper, which is printed in two different languages and distributed throughout Scotland. His social work was recently recognised by the Government of Pakistan from whom he received an award for these activities.
Haris Ahmed
Director
Haris is a Chartered Certified Accountant by profession and runs a very successful accountancy practice in the UK. Haris has first hand experience of all the challenges and difficulties faced by overseas students.
He has been advising and helping prospective overseas students in their course and Institution selection for several years. In doing so he has come across a number of prospective and existing students who have been either miss-guided or ill advised by others for a variety of reasons. He is concerned not only about the potential waste of money often hard earned by the students' families but also the loss of precious time for such students.
To tackle these and other issues Haris has joined forces with Admission Direct to use his experiences and his abilities to help to provide the best service possible for its clients.
Farag M Egwaider
Senior Consultant
Farag has a wealth of experience in advising students and has been helping students for the last four years. Farag is well known and is well respected in the Arab community for his work in assisting large numbers of students who have benefited form his advice.
His honest and impartial advice is now available to Admission Direct and their clients.
Ahmed Aljarod

Ahmed was assisted by Admission Direct to select an appropriate degree and then Masters Course in the UK. Whilst being a client he was able to provide many beneficial suggestions which have been since incorporated. He continues to provide advice to the company and prospective students built on his own personal experiences. |
